How to set monthly goals

Goal setting isn’t easy and we know it. Achieving those goals? Even harder. However, that doesn’t mean goals can’t be achieved. If you know how to set your goals correctly and understand your needs and ambitions clearly, goal setting and achieving them isn’t that difficult. All you need to do is go through the right process of goal setting. Here’s how:

  1. Choose a Planner:

First things first, get yourself a planner. Planners are the best tool to help you set goals, track your progress, and evaluate your progress every month. When you have a planner exclusively to work on your goals, you’ll see how easy and simpler the process of setting and achieving goals can be. You can identify patterns and readjust your plans accordingly.

  1. Plan Your Month:

While setting monthly goals, set a clear vision and plan your month accordingly. When you start a new month, go through a process of evaluating your short-term and long-term goals and creating a priority list. Focus on your personal and professional well-being and you’ll observe the changes it brings to your lives. Make sure that your goals are clear and specific, not vague. Write them down, writing them down makes it more effective.

  1. Make your Monthly Goals Visible:

Write down your goals on a card or create a vision board and place it where you can see it often. Seeing or reading your goals frequently will remind you of what you have set off to accomplish. It will keep you motivated and push you to work on them harder.

  1. Create an Action Plan:

Not every goal may need a step-by-step action plan, however, a few of your goals may be more complex than others. For such goals create an action plan that suits you well. For eg: You want to lose 5 kgs this month. Create an action plan for it such as:

  • Exercising for 45 minutes every day
  • Eat healthier
  • Meal prep in advance
  • Eliminate junk food
  • Eat more fruits

When you have a course of action set in place, you are more likely to work on it and achieve your goal. You can also use the TimeBlocking technique to help you manage your time efficiently and carry out your plans effectively. (more information on our Instagram Guide)

  1. Stay Accountable:

One way to make sure you achieve your goals is to share them with your friends, family, or colleagues. You can also create goals with them to motivate each other and work on them together. When you share your goals with someone, they can help you stay accountable and motivate you when things get tough. Track your progress regularly – daily, weekly, and monthly. This way you can identify your setbacks and reevaluate your course of action.

  1. Celebrate your Wins:

We have said this a million times, but make sure you celebrate your wins – even the small ones. No matter how small your big your success is, acknowledge and celebrate it. You have earned it. You worked hard to achieve your goals and they paid off. Celebrating your success will motivate you to create new goals and work on self-development.

Remember, the journey of goal setting isn’t just about achieving specific targets; it’s about personal growth, discipline, and the satisfaction of knowing that you are actively working towards a better future. So, don’t wait for the perfect moment; seize the day, set your goals, and see the changes it brings to your lives. In the face of challenges, remember that these are just the stepping stones to the life you envision.
